Nature-Inspired Craftsman Cottage Bedroom

For this bedroom, small changes and decor made for big upgrades. It had great built ins which I left. Outdated window coverings were removed and made for a big update. The biggest unseen project in this room was scrapping down the whole ceiling (which we had to do throughout the cottage) to remove the decades of cigarette smoke and installing a ceiling fan. The light coming through the original windows is so stunning and this was a space that called for tying in the nature outdoors. I selected white birch as my inspiration for creating some decor including structural art I like to install with branches, candles, a mirror, and repurposed art. The final effect is calming, grounding, and romantic.
